A riverside town west of London around Windsor Castle, the oldest occupied castle in the world: the State Apartments, St George's Chapel and the Changing of the Guard. Eton College is across the bridge, and Legoland Windsor is 3 km out. Ten minutes from Heathrow by taxi, under an hour by train from London Waterloo or Paddington (change at Slough), so it is an easy first or last day.
