Velankanni

A major Catholic pilgrimage site on the Coromandel Coast where millions visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health annually. A miraculous apparition of Mary to a Portuguese ship in 1560 gave the site its name. The September 8th feast draws over 3 million pilgrims.
