A small, unhurried British cantonment at 1,706m that remains remarkably unspoilt. HQ of the Garhwal Rifles regiment, Lansdowne has oak and rhododendron forests, colonial-era churches, a regimental war museum, Bhulla Tal lake, and panoramic Garhwal valley views.
