Skyscrapers, the Bean and Lake Michigan
The city that invented the skyscraper: an architecture boat tour on the Chicago River, Millennium Park's Cloud Gate ("the Bean"), the Art Institute, the Willis Tower Skydeck, Navy Pier and the Lake Michigan shore. Devon Avenue on the north side is one of the country's great Indian streets, and the Balaji temple at Aurora and the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago at Lemont are both big. Winters are bitterly cold and windy; May to October is the time to come.
