Jagged Peaks over Jenny Lake
The Teton Range rises straight out of the Jackson Hole valley, an hour south of Yellowstone: the boat across Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls, Oxbow Bend and Schwabacher Landing at sunrise, the Mormon Row barns, moose along the Moose-Wilson Road, and the Snake River by raft. Jackson town, with its antler arches, is the base, and Jackson Hole Airport sits inside the park. Non-US residents pay the US$100 surcharge from 2026. In winter the park's inner road closes to cars and Jackson turns ski resort.

Heads up
Fire Season in the West
Wildfires in the West peak in late summer; smoke can hide the views for days and fires can close roads and trails. Check the park's alerts page and the local fire restrictions (campfire bans are common).
Worth knowing
Teton Park Road Closed to Cars
From November to April the Teton Park Road past Jenny Lake closes to cars (it becomes a ski and walking track), and the road north into Yellowstone is shut. Highway 191 through Jackson Hole stays open, and Jackson becomes a ski resort.
