Entry rules
E-visa before you fly for up to 30 days, about ₹6,860
Apply for a 30-day UAE tourist visa before you fly: through your airline (Emirates and flydubai process visas for their passengers; IndiGo, Air India Express and Air Arabia sell them too), a travel agent, your UAE hotel, or the ICP and GDRFA portals. The government fee is AED 252 + 5% VAT, about ₹6,860; agents add their charges. Allow 1-3 working days.

⛰️ Sharjah & Ras Al Khaimah
North of Dubai: Sharjah's museums and restored old town, then Ras Al Khaimah's beach resorts and Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the country, with the world-record zipline. Cheaper hotels than Dubai, and airports at Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah with flights from India.
🐠 East Coast & Hajar Mountains
The Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman shore: kayaking on Hatta Dam, then the beaches and reefs of Fujairah, Al Aqah and Dibba, the oldest mosque in the country at Al Bidya, and Khor Fakkan's bay. Etihad Rail reaches Fujairah from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
🏙️ Dubai
The city where most flights from India land: the Burj Khalifa and Downtown, the Creek and souks of Old Dubai, the beach hotels of the Marina, JBR and the Palm, and the desert camps half an hour beyond the last towers. The Metro runs from the airport to the Marina; everything else is a taxi or a Careem away.
🕌 Abu Dhabi
The capital and its resort islands: the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan and the Corniche in the city, Ferrari World and the theme parks on Yas, the Louvre and the beaches on Saadiyat. An hour from Dubai by Etihad Rail since September 2026, with its own airport and flights from many Indian cities.
🏜️ Al Ain & the Empty Quarter
Abu Dhabi's interior: the oasis city of Al Ain, a UNESCO site of palm groves, forts and Bronze Age tombs under Jebel Hafeet, and Liwa, the date-palm crescent on the edge of the Rub' al Khali with the country's highest dunes. Best by car, from November to February.
