Leuven

A Gothic Town Hall and a 600-Year-Old University

1 dayIdeal stay₹8,520From / night₹2,660Food / day₹850Entry

A lively university town 25 minutes by train from Brussels and about 15 from Brussels Airport, which makes it an easy first or last night. The lace-like Gothic Town Hall, St Peter's Church with Dieric Bouts' Last Supper, the University Library and its tower (rebuilt after both World Wars), the Groot Begijnhof beguinage (UNESCO) where the university's staff and students now live, and the Oude Markt's café terraces. The Stella Artois brewery is here. Plenty of cheap vegetarian and Asian food for the students (estimate).
