United Kingdom / Bath, Stonehenge & the South West / Cornwall (St Ives & Penzance)Cornwall (St Ives & Penzance)
Turquoise Coves, Fishing Harbours and Land's End
The far south-western tip of England: St Ives' harbour, white beaches and Tate gallery, Penzance and St Michael's Mount (walk the causeway at low tide), the cliff-top Minack Theatre, Land's End and the coast path between them. The sea is cold but the light is the brightest in England. Over 5 hours from London by train (change at St Erth for St Ives), or the overnight Night Riviera sleeper to Penzance. The A30 jams in August, and St Ives is best without a car.

Worth knowing
Cornwall in August: Traffic and Full Beaches
In the school holidays the A30 jams, especially on Saturdays, St Ives' car parks fill early and rooms cost the most of the year. Come by train, use the St Erth park-and-ride, or visit in June or September.
