Cascais

A Seaside Town at the End of Lisbon's Coastal Railway

1 dayIdeal stay₹10,120From / night₹2,340Food / dayFreeEntry

A former fishing town turned seaside resort at the end of the coastal railway from Lisbon's Cais do Sodré (about 40 minutes, past the beaches of Estoril): small sandy beaches, a marina and a pretty old town, the Boca do Inferno sea cliffs, the Casa das Histórias Paula Rego museum, and a flat seafront cycle path to Guincho's surf beach. A calmer base than Lisbon for families, with buses on to Cabo da Roca and Sintra. The Atlantic stays cool even in August, and the wind on Guincho is strong.
