Khao Sok

One of the oldest rainforests on earth, between the two coasts: jungle treks, river tubing, and a night in a floating raft house among the limestone karsts of Cheow Lan Lake, with a chance of gibbons and hornbills at dawn. Most people come by minivan from Krabi, Phuket, Khao Lak or Surat Thani. Leeches and slippery trails from June to October; the lake stays open all year.
