What the checkposts ask for is the Ladakh environment-fee receipt — ₹400 per person plus a ₹20-a-day wildlife protection fee — paid online at lahdclehpermit.in or at the Leh DC office. Foreign nationals still need a Protected Area Permit through a registered Leh agent.

Packing for May
