Tasmanian Winter: Snow and Icy Roads
Snow falls at Cradle Mountain and the roads in can be icy, especially at dawn and dusk; drive slowly and carry warm, waterproof gear. Days are short (about 9 hours of light). The Dove Lake circuit stays open but can be closed in storms; the Overland Track in winter is for experienced walkers only.
