Worth knowing
Haze Season
From about August to October, smoke from forest fires in Sumatra and Borneo can blanket Singapore. 2026 was the worst season since 2015: the PSI was unhealthy every day from 5 October. Check the PSI on haze.gov.sg or the myENV app each morning; above 100, keep outdoor time short (Gardens by the Bay's domes, malls and museums are indoors), and bring N95 masks for children, older travellers and anyone with asthma. The rains usually clear it by November.

National Day Parade and fireworks2027: 9 Aug
Singapore's birthday, with a parade, flypasts and fireworks round Marina Bay or the Padang. Parade tickets go by ballot to residents, but the fireworks can be seen from the bay's promenades, which fill hours early; the rehearsals on Saturdays in July have fireworks too. Roads round Marina Bay close on parade and rehearsal days.
