Flying in

Flights from India

  • Prague (PRG) · from 8 Indian cities, from ₹23,000 one way

Entry rules

Visa needed before you fly for up to 90 days, about ₹11,810

Apply for a Schengen short-stay (type C) visa at a VFS Global Czech visa centre in India, 4-8 weeks before you fly, and at least 6 weeks ahead for April to September (no earlier than 6 months). Apply to Czechia if it is your only or longest stay in Schengen. The fee is €90 (about ₹9,600; €45 for children 6-11) plus the VFS service charge (about ₹2,220 with GST, paid when you book the appointment); neither is refunded if the visa is refused.

Checked 2026-10; confirm with the embassy before you fly.

🏰 Prague & Central Bohemia

The capital of Czechia (the Czech Republic), where the flights from India land: Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and the Old Town, with Kutná Hora's bone chapel and silver-town cathedrals an hour away by train and Karlštejn Castle forty minutes. The base for most trips, and the hub of the country's trains and coaches.

♨️ West Bohemian Spa Towns

The spa towns in the hills towards the German border, on UNESCO's list as Great Spa Towns of Europe: Karlovy Vary's hot springs and colonnades, and Mariánské Lázně an hour south. About two hours from Prague by coach.

🏯 South Bohemia

Ponds, forests and castles towards the Austrian border, with Český Krumlov's castle town in a bend of the Vltava as its jewel, three hours from Prague by coach and a shuttle ride from Salzburg, Linz and Vienna.

🍇 Moravia

The eastern half of the country: Brno, the second city, with Villa Tugendhat; the chateaux, park and wine cellars of Lednice–Valtice; Třebíč's Jewish Quarter and Telč's Renaissance square; and Baroque Olomouc. Wine rather than beer, fewer tourists, and Vienna and Bratislava close by.

🪨 North Bohemia: Sandstone Country

Sandstone arches, rock towns and castle ruins north of Prague: the Bohemian Switzerland national park on the German border, with Pravčická brána and the Kamenice gorges, and the rock towns and Trosky Castle of the Bohemian Paradise. Walking country, 1.5-2.5 hours from Prague.
